Kiru Martin Nyuykongi

“Kiru Martin Nyuykongi is an experienced multifaceted Leader with a track record in successfully coordinating operations and leading teams of multi-disciplinary technicians in IT/Telecom Infrastructure and Service Management environments. He enjoys optimising work processes to reduce waste and has a reputation for using data and visualisations to tell compelling business stories that inform management and influence decision making.

 

With over 13 years of industry experience, Martin first trained and started his career as an IT Support Technician working for a local VSAT Internet Service Provider in Bamenda. From his unique approach in handling client issues and commitment to ‘never returning home without results’, he soon established a reputation as an efficient and dependable Support Technician.

 

When he joined Viettel Cameroon S.A as a Field Technician, he quickly got noticed and for the past 7 years, has occupied 3 different leadership positions. Martin first led a 4-man team to Manyu to oversee the deployment of telecom infrastructure and successfully launched 2G/3G network services in 14 sites. He then proceeded to lead the 16-man technical team of the South West Region, responsible for ensuring effective service delivery and infrastructure development within the Region, before being transferred to lead the quality control team at the headquarters in Douala.

 

Martin is strongly committed to Continuous Professional Development and is always studying something new. He is triple Cisco CCNA Certified (Routing and Switching, Security and Wireless), Axelos ITIL v4 Certified (IT Service Management) and has a number of Diplomas and Specialisations from Coursera partner Universities in Lean Six Sigma, Executive Data Science, Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Cybersecurity and Mobility, Operations Management and Human Computer Interaction.

 

Martin holds a B.Sc in Physics and Computer Sciences from the University of Buea and is currently a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholar with the University of Manchester studying for an MS in Management and Information Systems. He hopes to graduate as a ‘hybrid’ manager/consultant, capable of filling the skills gap that currently exists between Management and Information System Professionals.
