Gwewasang C Martin


Gwewasang C. Martin (Community Champion) is a Family Health Clinician in private practice, Sexual and Reproductive Health Consultant, frontline public health Expert for 25+ years, remote communities in Cameroon. His areas of expertise cut across medical practice, Family Planning Provider, Hospital & NGO Administration Management, and peace building issues. His work has taken him to more than 10 countries in Sub-Sahara Africa, South Africa, United Kingdom, and Europe where he served in a variety of roles and spent the bulk of his career as a Clinician, leadership gifts, and Trainer, Mentor and Entrepreneur and philanthropist.

 

Gwewasang holds a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research from Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER Class of 2014). He obtained a Doctorate (major Clinical Science) from University of Belford and completed Authentification and Nortaration for the Doctoral with the United States, Department of States, USA (2015).

 

Gwewasang is the Founder & CEO of Adele Reproductive Health Foundation, Higher Clinical Training Institute (formerly, the Clinical Training Center 4 Family Planning) and Principal Tutor at the institution. He is a member of Better Care Task Force, Women & Health Initiative Harvard School of Public Health, the University of Oxford’s Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute, and the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research.

 

Gwewasang is active in speaking out and lobbying the Ministry of Public Health and the Cameroon Medical Council to give official recognition to Reproductive Health. Earlier, he worked as Accountant/Interim Provincial Coordinator for Cameroon National Association for Family Welwefare (CAMNAFAW) in Cameroon (1995-2000), where he coordinated community-based programs in two country offices (Littoral and South West Regions). He volunteered as Supervisor for the Presidents Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR- 2012-2016). He is President for the Commission of Affairs for Development, Environment and Health in Mambanda local government area 2012-date), the HIFA2015 Country Representative, Member of Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights, member of the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA), Peace & Collaboration Development Network (PCDN) and Partner to the “STOP TB Partnership” and Cameroon TB Group.

 

Gwewasang is the focal person for Africa Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal Abortion campaign in Cameroon, a ‘Bridge Builder’ for Ethno-Religious Mediation (ICERM), USA and Quality in Business Certification by the International Trade Council (ITC) 2019.
